Valencia, June 27, 2006 - Chiquita Canyon announced today that it will be the title sponsor of the 2006 Castaic Lake Fourth of July Celebration, hosted by Friends of Castaic Lake. "Castaic Lake is a special place to spend the day with family and, of course, watch the fireworks on the Fourth of July," said Mike Dean, general manager of Chiquita Canyon. "As a company, we've seen how the Santa Clarita Valley has grown and how many value this important recreational resource in Castaic. We're happy to support Friends of Castaic Lake and to help continue this time-honored tradition." The festive holiday event will take place at the Castaic Lake Recreation area. There will be food from various local vendors, pony rides, a petting zoo, and other fun events for the whole family to enjoy. The music and games start at 5 p.m., and the event will be capped off with a fireworks show at 9 p.m. "The Fourth of July Celebration is an important fundraising event for Castaic," said Clay Friedman, president of Friends of Castaic Lake. "I want to thank Chiquita Canyon for being an active part of the community and inspiring more residents and businesses to become involved in their community."
