Newhall, September 26, 2005 - Students from Castaic Elementary School, Canyon High School, CalArts and Castaic Middle School recently tried their hand at "painting the town red" in the first Santa Clarita Street Arts Festival, sponsored by Chiquita Canyon. Chiquita Canyon has long recognized its responsibility as a neighbor and community member and has participated, sponsored and contributed to such events such like the Santa Clarita Street Arts Festival that establish community as well as environmental awareness. Through the sponsorship, students joined more than 80 other artists to create a street mural that was on display during the two-day festival. In addition to the street painting, the Santa Clarita Street Arts Festival included live music throughout the day, dancing, skateboard exhibitions, arts and crafts, animation short films, shopping and more.
